9lb Hammer is a dive bar that isn't trying to be a dive bar. Dingy atmosphere, decent beer selection, and free peanuts! Great place to grab a drink and kill at the shuffleboard, pool, Big Buck, PGA. Best of all, 9lb has a cohort of "regulars" that help make this place feel like a real neighborhood bar. The service, in my experience, has been great, not because they are fast or friendly or anything boring like that, but because the waitresses are smoking hot.
At some point during the night they have a happy hour, and I bet it includes deals on drinks. So look forward to that. Their food is good too, but you could easily head next door to Smarty Pants for a sandwich, or to Stellar for a pizza, or to the taco truck for a tamale. It's all good.
